After more than five years running a dog rescue, Britt and Sully recognized a clear need in their community for safe, reliable, and fear-free daycare, lodging, and training services.
They set out not only to create a trusted resource for the growing dog community, but also to help fill the gap in positive, relationship-based training. Combining Britt’s background in business coaching for women, and Sully’s expertise in financial planning and building thoughtful, functional spaces, they brought their shared vision to life.
Nearly 3 years later that vision became The Bark Yard, where every dog receives the understanding, support, and care they deserve.
Since then The Bark Yard has become Maine’s most trusted enrichment-based doggy daycare, lodging, and training facility, dedicated to providing a fear-free, force-free environment where dogs thrive due to our focus on their physical, mental, and emotional needs.
