The Bark Yard is located in a convenient location on Broadway in South Portland, right by the ramps to both 295 and 95.
We have 11,000 sq feet of space inside our building, with additional outdoor yards and dedicated enrichment space at the back of the property, and about two acres of property, wooded, grassy and paved, for walks, outdoor training, and fun Sniffari walks!
For both daycare and boarding, your pup has their own private, dedicated space from the following choices (we let dogs tell us where they’re most comfortable): a 4×6 or 4×8 cabin with a raised bed and private water bowl, or a crate (you can bring blankets or ask us to use one of ours), and even a crate within a cabin, as well as a few other luxury options.

Commercial Grade Air Purifiers
We have four BioOx air-scrubbers for our kennels, quadruple the required amount for extra safety. These use natural enzymes to neutralize harmful airborne pathogens and toxins.
Traditional HVAC systems just move air around – while our system actually decontaminates the air by capturing the air, rendering contaminates like dust, ammonia, formaldehyde, bacteria, and other viruses as harmless.
Santization
Sanitization of our entire facility (kennels, play yards, etc.) is a high priority for us. We utilize medical grade Kennelsol to disinfect – the same cleaning supply used in veterinary offices and hospitals. We also take precautions for toys, leashes, and enrichment areas – ensuring they are cleaned frequently.
No Shared Water or Toys
We do not permit communal water bowls or toys. This reduces the risk of your dog spreading or becoming in contact with bad bacteria.
